In wine, the word terroir typically evokes thoughts of soil and climate. But to us, people play an essential role. From small family-run wineries to large-scale producers, each contributes something special to the fabric of winemaking. They are our terroir, and we enjoy sharing a glass of wine with them.

Matt’s career bridges agriculture and technology. He began at Cargill, working with farmers, food manufacturers, and global supply chains in risk management. He then spent nearly five years at Descartes Labs, developing advanced AI and supply chain solutions for Fortune 500 companies. A wine enthusiast, Matt founded Blended to empower wineries of all sizes through data and technology.

Scott Barta

Co-founder, CTO

Scott brings nearly 30 years of software development experience across diverse technologies, from desktop apps and OSes to cloud services and frontend development. He spent the last two years at Strivr, a virtual reality company, building infrastructure and a data platform. Before that, Scott spent four years at Twilio on voice analytics and eight years at Google working on fraud prevention, Google Play, and Android developer tools. He also had a stint at Netflix before its streaming era. A wine enthusiast, Scott especially enjoys bottles made from unique techniques or unusual grape varieties.
